One of the Kings of R&B, Brian McKnight is back in the country to do two shows. Yesterday, December 4, he performed at Solaire Theater. Today, he is to perform at Waterfront Cebu. According to an article by ABS-CBN, his two concerts is he and his Filipina wife’s early wedding anniversary celebration.
During his interview, Brian expressed his love with the Philippines. He said that now, it’s mostly because of his wife, Leilani Mendoza and her family who are from Plaridel, Bulacan. It was only last year when Brian and Leilani tied the knot which means this year is their first anniversary together as man and wife.

Furthermore, the R&B singer shared how grateful he is for his Filipino fans. He kept saying how happy he was knowing that his fans in the Philippines still listen to his songs even after decades. His interviewer asked if he knows about couples using his songs during special moments like weddings and he said yes.
He shared that back when he was just a boy he would always dream of traveling around the world to perform his original compositions. However, he admitted that he never truly expected it to happen and that he was very happy when it did.
Brian McKnight also said that whenever he makes music, he writes one that he likes hoping other people would relate to it as he did. Luckily for him, most of the songs he wrote struck the hearts of many hopeless romantics.
Moreover, he also shared how happy he is marrying a Filipina woman. According to him, being married and loved by a Filipina is fantastic. In his exact words he said:
Being married to a Filipina is a fantastic thing. My love for Filipino food has gone through the roof.

Brian McKnight is famous for his songs “Back at One,” “6,8,12,” “One Last Cry.” The singer said that he had the opportunity to work with some of our very own notable singers. These include Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Regine Velasquez, and Kyla. He also notes that the Philippines is a country filled with the most talented singers in the world.
